Turkish Body and Health Flashcards: At the Doctor and Pharmacy
This deck pairs the parts of the body with the sentences you actually need when something goes wrong. Turkish describes pain with the body part plus a possessive and the verb ağrımak: başım ağrıyor (my head hurts), dişim ağrıyor (my tooth hurts). Once you know that pattern, every body-part card becomes a ready-made sentence.
The second half covers the pharmacy (eczane) and the doctor: symptoms like ateş (fever), öksürük (cough) and grip (flu), and the practical words reçete (prescription), randevu (appointment) and acil (emergency). The emergency number in Turkey is 112 for ambulance, police and fire.

Body & Health flashcards: FAQ
How do you say 'my head hurts' in Turkish?
Başım ağrıyor. Turkish puts the possessive on the body part (baş + ım) and uses the verb ağrımak (to ache). For a sharp pain or a sore throat people also say acıyor: boğazım acıyor.
Can I buy medicine without a prescription in Turkey?
Pharmacists (eczacı) can advise on and sell many everyday medicines without a prescription, but antibiotics and many other medicines need a reçete. At night and on Sundays look for the nöbetçi eczane, the duty pharmacy listed on every pharmacy door.
