Turkish Adjectives in Opposite Pairs Flashcards
Adjectives are easiest to remember in pairs, because each word becomes the cue for its opposite. This deck lists twenty pairs back to back, so as you review büyük you are already preparing küçük, and as you learn dolu you get boş for free.
Turkish adjectives never agree with their noun: büyük ev, büyük evler, büyük evde. Put the adjective before the noun to describe it (yeni bir araba, a new car) or after it as the predicate (araba yeni, the car is new). Comparison is just as regular: daha büyük (bigger), en büyük (the biggest).

Adjective Opposites flashcards: FAQ
Do Turkish adjectives change for plural nouns?
No. Turkish adjectives never take plural or case endings when they stand before a noun: güzel çiçek (a beautiful flower), güzel çiçekler (beautiful flowers), güzel çiçeklerde (on the beautiful flowers).
How do you say 'bigger' and 'the biggest' in Turkish?
Put daha before the adjective for the comparative (daha büyük, bigger) and en for the superlative (en büyük, the biggest). What you compare with takes the ablative: Ankara İzmir'den daha büyük.
How do I study the Adjective Opposites flashcards?
Press the card (or Space) to see the answer, then choose Know or Again. Known cards move up through five Leitner boxes and come back after 1, 3, 7 and 21 days; missed cards return to box 1 and reappear a few cards later. Your progress is saved in this browser, and you can switch between TR → EN and EN → TR at any time.
